23 Students from Sisler High Receive Vancouver Film School Scholarships
They’re heading to VFS! The Schroeder Foundation and Vancouver Film School have joined forces to send 23 students from the Sisler CREATE program to Vancouver Film School.
These students, who are studying animation, game design, 3D, and visual effects, will have over 90% of their tuition covered.
“VFS and The Schroeder Foundation are changing lives. Their support has shaped our program, and the creative industries on a wider level,” said Jamie Leduc, Department Head for CREATE. “Our students are getting out there, they’re following their passion, and sharing their stories with the world. These scholarships have removed barriers to education for so many young people, allowing them to reach their full potential.”
The post-high CREATE program at Sisler High School provides career and education pathways to the creative industries. Students can study film, animation, game design, 3D, visual effects and other digital media.
The Schroeder Foundation has helped provide over 60 scholarships and hundreds of merit awards to students in the program since 2018. The Foundation also provided essential technology and equipment to the program so that the students could continue their studies during the COVID lockdowns.
