WHAT WE DO: Schroeder Arts and Entertainment

Smile Theatre

The Schroeder Foundation is proud to support Smile Theatre, a 50-year-old charity that delivers unique, professional, live musical theatre performances to seniors and other vulnerable people living in care.

The Schroeder Foundation provided financial and production support to bring The Wild Rovers to seniors across Southern Ontario. This production, performed by professional artists, was inspired by the songs and spirit of the beloved Irish Rovers.

Smile Theatre performers are energetic and positive professionals that have a special interest in connecting with seniors and those who live in care environments. They are focused on caring for audience members through excellence in performance engagement, and are characterized by openness, generosity and warmth.

“We are so grateful to The Schroeder Foundation for making The Wild Rovers a reality. The concept and songs of The Wild Rovers resonated perfectly with our audiences, who sang, laughed and stomped along to favourite Irish tunes.”
Tom Carson, Executive Director of Smile Theatre.

Arts and Philanthropy

The Schroeder Foundation has leveraged its involvement with Terra Bruce Productions to host philanthropic live performance events that support hospitals in Ontario including Unity Health, University Health Network, Scarbourgh Health Network, and others.
