WHAT WE DO: Schroeder Health
Schroeder Health
The Schroeder Foundation is making an impact on healthcare in Canada by supporting research, services and rehabilitation, as well as advocating for increased government funding. The Foundation’s more high-profile efforts have involved large donations to hospitals, to assist in research and special projects.
In 2017, the Foundation established the Schroeder Institute for Brain Innovation and Recovery, with a $20-million gift to the Toronto Rehab Foundation – the largest ever made to a rehabilitation hospital in Canada.
The Schroeder Foundation is also committed to funding research and programming that helps address the causes and impact of food allergies. Among the Foundation’s most significant contributions is the creation of the Schroeder Allergy and Immunology Research Institute at McMaster University. The institute supports scientific allergy investigation and provides for the use of bioinformatics to analyze data collected in an initiative called the CHILD Cohort Study.
