Daniel Macintyre Collegiate Institute
100th Anniversary Gala
At a time of uncertainty and need, Walter Schroeder personally stepped in to ensure the success of the 100th anniversary celebration of Daniel Macintyre with a donation of $138,000. The Schroeder Foundation funded the entire event, covering the costs of the venue, catering, entertainment, photography, program design and printing, decor, and gifts. This generous support allowed the school to retain ticket revenue, which was then redirected to address its highest-priority needs.

Like its commitment to St. John’s, The Schroeder Foundation contributed $75,000 annually to support a bursary program for marginalized students who meet specific academic requirements. Launched six years ago, this program has provided vital financial assistance to over 40 students each year, with bursaries ranging from $150 to $1,000. The Foundation’s ongoing support helps ensure that students from underserved backgrounds have the resources they need to continue their education, empowering them to overcome financial barriers and stay focused on their academic goals. This initiative has played a significant role in promoting educational equity and helping students achieve success.
