Education: Peaceful Village
Peaceful Village
In 2024, The Schroeder Foundation donated over $177,000 to pilot a new afterschool mentorship and homework club in collaboration with Peaceville Village at Shaughnessy Park School, part of the WSD. This program was created in response to the urgent need for afterschool programming at the school, which plays a crucial role in keeping students safe, engaged, and focused on their academic success. By providing a structured environment where students can receive academic support, mentorship, and guidance, this initiative aims to help foster a positive and productive after-school experience for the children of Shaughnessy Park.
Peaceville Village, known for its exceptional support services and impressive graduation rates of nearly 90%, offers wraparound services to ensure that every child in the program has access to the resources they need to succeed. Additionally, all students enrolled in the afterschool program are provided with a nutritious dinner, ensuring that their well-being is prioritized. This partnership reflects the Schroeder Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting at-risk youth and helping them overcome barriers to success, both inside and outside the classroom.
